Cabelas Drift Sock Sale
Cabelas has their top of the line Pro Series drift socks on sale for 25% off. Just a heads up for you guys that might need some. I bought the 66" ones. I wanted the 78", but was told that those are longer than the older ones and held a larger volume of water, and would actually slow you down to much unless you had a 20+ mph wind.

do yall ever use just one? or do you need one going off each side of the boat? just curious....seems like one would make you drift towards the left or right either directions a bit

On your boat you could use on big one, make you a harness like a ski tow harness that hooks to your tiedowns eyes on back of boat and comes together in center of boat back of your motor. Hook sock to that. That's how I rig my big one and it works fine. You can also unhook one side and kind of tack with the wind like a sail boat.

I use 1 when the wind is lighter. Swings you back and forth like a duck decoy that way. Even with two you want to go perfectly straight.

Just don't look at it as buying drift socks, it's really about SAVING 25% on em. My wife taught me that. I can't make her understand that you SAVE money when you put it in the bank, not in someone's cash register.

I thot I would share my solution to the swinging like a duck decoy.
I bought a deal that is made for pulling intertubes or skiers. Like $25. It is a cable that hooks to both back cleats and has a float that is on a pulley that you can attach things to (the floating pulley stays in the center of the cable no matter what.). I hook that up to my cleats and then my solo drift sock to the float pulley. Now that float does "float", but.....if you give the cable slack, the cable will sink down around your prop. My solution for the sinking....."pool noodles". Put the float pulley in the middle with pool noodles on both sides. No sinking now. IT WORKS PERFECT!!!! Boat floats straight with no "see sawing". Wouldn't have it any other way. Now I only use it when Im drifting with one sock only and pulling tubes or skiing.
