    I see I didn't know what shallow was, I caught fish deep yesterday 15' in 20' of water.

    I found some 60 degree water and they were in it big time I did catch a couple on my deep holes and marked some fish but they didn't want to bite

    Those don't look like gnats, they look like rats or at least mice. I guess it doesn't matter what they look like and what you call them as long as they catch fish I'd call them GREAT.

    Good job of finding them shallow after looking deep. A most fun time of the year is here.
