Well got the boat back from the boat mechanic Friday and had a great day to test it out today.
Also got to test out my new depth finder
I found fish in DEEP water 17-24 FOW and some of them just happened to be PIGS!!
I caught this 2# 8 oz. big girl and snapped a few pictures and released her back to hopefully be hanging out in one of my stake beds again some day.

Looks like you had a good day, those are some nice fish.
Nice mess! Ever thought about doing a tv show?![]()
I've been having trouble finding them and yours is the second post talking of finding fish deep that I've read today. Any chance your finding them in the bottom of a trough or creek channel? A week ago I fished all the regular haunts, stake beds, channel edges, and all I found were dinks. As I motored over a channel with 28-30 of water, I marked fish just off to within 5' of the bottom and blew it off thinking no way they were crappie. Time for an old dog to learn a new trick?
Everything is possible. The impossible just takes longer!buffalo13 LIKED above post
Nice fish Jeff, a friend of mine got on some pigs in deep water on Monday also. Between your pics and my buddy's I have about talked myself into braving the cold Thursday morning.

Russ,
I did find them at the base of creek channels but also found them on deep humps out of the creek channels and in the bottom of the creek channels.
I noticed that if I found tons of baitfish around my beds then all I found was little fish. I also noticed the suspended fish in the bottom of the creek channels and in my opinion by what I saw on my hds units they were crappie.
