    Default Rigging advice

I was wandering if any of you guys would be willing to share your rigging techniques with me. I am fairly new to spider rigging and so far all I have tried is live bait with two hooks about two feet apart and a weight at the bottom. I would really like to know how you all rig up when using jigs because it sounds like everyone is fishing that way. Just wanted to know the best way to keep it vertical while trolling and are you using one jig or two. I will understand if you dont want to give up your secrets but maybe just a general idea. Thanks

Some times I double minnow rig but 75% of the time I'm just single hooking it , could be a minnow or a jig the way a single rig is slide on a 1/2 to 3/4 oz egg sinker tie on a swivel then tie on a 12 inch 6 lb fluorocarbon leader with what ever jig you prefer the faster you go the more weight you need the 3/4 will be good up to .7 or .8. Hope this helps.

It does thanks. I was thinking that everyone was using the double rig and I personally like it until netting a fish and almost always both hooks tangle in the net. Think I will try single rig

Caps n Coleman some rigged double minnow and some rigged minnow over jig. Only use a landing net on big fish so I dont have to fight tangles.

Depends on what your comfortable with. Double rigs are good for open water fishing. Single rigs for probing brush and heavily brushed areas. I use 1/2 oz majority of the time unless fishing shallow water like during the spawn. Fishing shallow i upgrade to a 1/8oz jig no weight either single rigged or double rigged with a lool knot. Hope that helps.
