Default Lake Monroe 1-31-16 by slimjim

I hit the lake early with a friend. Launched with out any trouble and headed out. We have not been have muck luck in the deeper water so we decided to work the North shore ( on some good advice I was given) and closer in to the shallows. We started to set out the rods when we cleared the weeds. Before we could get all the rods out, one goes off. Fish on- skunk off !!

A good start to the day. We worked along the North shore moving in and out ot the 5 to 7 foot marks and picked up a fair amount of fish. A lot of smaller one that went back to grow some more.

We finished the day with seven keepers in the box. Better than what I have been doing. We headed in.

When we got to the ramp and put the boat on the trailer we pulled into the staging area to tie her down. There in the middle of the parking lot was a pile of 20 or 30 gars. some still alive. Someone just dumped them there. After a few choice works about how I felt about someone who would do something like that, My fishing partner started to pick them up and throw them in the lake so that something could feed on them instead of rotting in the parking lot. Some one came over with a garbage can and they fill the can. Why would anyone just dump a load of fish in the parking lot like that??

All in all, we still had a good day.

Nice report slimjim, last time I put in at Enterprise there was more garbage & beer bottles on the ground & in the water than in the trash can.

Disgusting I picked up what I could & went about my day.

Obviously someone who just doesn't care & there's a lot of it out there.

Man what a mess, can't imagine what that woulda smelled like in a few days.

I am not a huge fan of them myself but what a waste, seems like you could use em for something

even if ya don't want to eat them.

Fertilizer around your fruit tree. But don't do this, it just a mess for someone else to clean up.
