    Default 1/31 Badin beeg juan

Got a little bit of a late start this morning but headed to Badin. Pulled for stripers for an hour or so while I rigged up my crappie rods. Those 14 hour days of school/coaching don't leave much time to rig up! Anywho, hit a good cove long lining and it was a slow bite but the fish were quality fish. I think if the wind hadn't got up and blew a bunch of trash into my cove I could have scratched out a limit but I only ended up with a half dozen. One about 10 inches, one 11, triplets that were all 12 inch fish and this 16 inch slab. Talked to a guy at the ramp when I got in and he wanted to weigh it so I didn't turn him down. Bottomed out at 2.3 pounds, my personal best.

Nice fish Thompson. Do any good with the stripers? I live up in Boone, but originally from anson county so have fished Badin and Tillery a lot growing up. My brother is still down there and may go down and take him out sometime soon. Caphook the water temp on Hickory was between 43 and 44 on Sunday so probably a little warmer on Badin.

Nothing on the stripers at all. Water temp was 47.

May try again this weekend if I can get some work finished up.

Last weekend was tough for stripers all over I guess. We caught one on Hickory and a buddy of mine that has been fishing several days a week and catching quite a few didn't get one at all. Guess it was that front moving through.
