Default A Jordan Limit--Just on the North River

Actually, we had 62, and they were not crappie on Jordan. With good advice from JC, (Speckle75) and having Tony (Redboat) as our guide, we had an outstanding day catching Yellow (Racoon) Perch on the North River. We launched from Coinjock, so we were only a couple of miles from the Currituck Sound, but went up the North River. The YP are the first fish to spawn in the year and are bunched up in the shallows (7'-8'). Started with minnows and jigs, but ended up all minnows. Bought 20 dozen just to make sure and ended up with a few left over. With a fairly small mouth, you're going to lose some of the fish at the boat.

I was amazed at how many eggs the females have in them. Ounce for ounce, they have more eggs than any fish I have ever cleaned. Never had YP to eat, so looking forward to a good mess.

A number of us talk about how much we like the crappie tournaments. This trip would never have happened without my participating in the Jordan Crappie tournaments. The friendship and connections pay off in trips such as this.

Sun getting low on the horizon and what a beautiful day. Just doesn't get much better than this.

The day started off with the 3 or I should say the four of us. (The owner of B&B was going rabbit hunting) sitting around a table having coffee.

Fishing was awesome! Charles won the $1. Dennis cauhht the most with charles coming second with me bringing up the rear lol. The difference? The rig you used!

Charles and Dennis Thanks again for having me along. I can't wait to do it again!

I haven't had a Walleye in over 20 years! But I can say they taste similar. I may try to get some out of Lake Gaston.

I talked to a guy at church yesterday that is from Indiana. He said that yellow perch are excellent eating and maybe between a bream and crappie.
