    Default Back to my roots

What with the weather and my choice to boycott cold weather, haven't been out much lately. When I do get out, I see fish on the beds I've put out but they sure are tight lipped. While fishing beds, I see guys spider rigging and they catch either small or fish that I see them checking, few go into the live well so they aren't doing much better than I am. Not seeing many fish on the channel edges this year but they are pulling the lake pretty good right now with last weeks snow. Lake temp is high 30s to low 40s depending where your at. Today I had some ole friends call and we decided to fish the eddies in the river below the spillway on Barren from the bank. It was slow. You may as well throw a rock in as a jig, but we did manage a few on minnows, enough for a mess for the one ole boy to take home. It sure felt good to fish with ole friends, rib each other and get back to our roots like we fished years ago. I told the ole boy that took the fish home he could catch a limit out of the mud puddle in the parking lot. Catching was poor but the fellowship was outstanding.
Everything is possible. The impossible just takes longer!
