    Default Lake Monroe 1-25-16

My plan was to hit the lake at day break. I made it to the ramp and into the parking lot to stage before launching.

Went to start the truck to back the boat down the ramp, but no go. The battery died in the cold. Had to call the wife to come rescue me. After a short wait, made it into the water.

Ran over to the old power plan and set up for my drift. Fish on. That was the only time a rod bent for us all morning.

Started to work my way to the ramp to call it a day. Saw another boat in the area so headed over to see how they were doing. It turned out to be flycatcher. Got a chance to say Hi and talked for a bit. While were were talking one of his rods goes off. I was glad to see that there were still some fish in the lake. We headed in so that I could go buy a new battery.

By the way, it was cold out this morning.

Saw Flycaster on his way to the lake and hollered at him early this morning and checked in with Speckanator this afternoon. I'll run into you one day Jim. Batteries and tires have given me fits at the ramp too. Glad your backup had your back.
