Test jig
I saw someone on this forum tie something similar, but I am unable to find it. I am new to tying and am thoroughly enjoying it. I had great success on a roadrunner jig head last year but they are expensive. Is it economical to tie these? If not at least its fun. I did not realize the picture was so large. Sorry.

Good job.We really like the belly spin's. not cheap but can put the hooks and make the color's size's you need and want.On our home lake the Roadrunner is king. especially the 1/16 oz.Our wal=mart like 22 shells they go fast.If you are not their the day they stock you are out. We make our own.We think The sickle hook is the best for panfish and trout

A should do well for you. The one thing I would say is you for sure want the chenille snug to the head very well, but not climb up it. I hope you know what I am trying to say? Anyway nice work for your being new to tying. Now make sure it's finished well and stayed tied when catching which I a. Sure you will be able to do and find out!
I cant tell enough about size on the head or blade, but more of a tip if you change sizes of both or either, just don't let the blade make the jig spin. This looks about right, but had to say just looking!

I bought 50 collarless jig heads earlier this month and tied them all. I searched in my tackle box and found a 1/4 oz. jig head because I had to tie more! It is collared and had a bard that I clipped off. I used 30 pound mono to tie the spinner on.

You can always cut the collar off if you want. You can use regular tying thread for the swivel, once you tie everything on it snugs it right up.

How do you cut the collar off? I tried, probably wasn't using the proper tool. I used the mono thinking it would be secured better. Have you lost any swivels tying with regular thread?
