    Default Oconee Trip

Lord willing my Dad and i are headed to Oconee Thursday and Friday. This will be cancelled and rescheduled trip #3, so probably still 50/50! Havent fished Oconee in 4 years but did pretty well back then. Open to tight or longlining. Any advise, help, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Guys!

I have not been in awhile. You can check out recent posts on the GA site and get a lot of info. I hope to go tomorrow if I can get my trailer put back together.

Been in LA casting & blasting.

Upper lake is heavy stained, Lick/Sugar creek was still orange on 1-8. Fish was in 20-25 ft of water, dark colors were best trolled at .8, doubled rigged 16th's and 32nd's water temp was 53-55...will probably be alot cooler after this week long cold snap forcasted. Good fish are biting just have to wade through the dinks and the hybrid/stripers that were everywhere.

Pretty much what Dutch said. I fished there 1/8/16 also and I pushed jigs tipped with minnows. I had the best luck fishing 3/4 ounce of weight and 1/32 jigs. I seemed to do better the deeper and slower I fished. Some of my lines were probably down about 15+ feet and I fished between .5-.8 mph.

Thanks so much for your advice and recommendations guys. As suspected looks like the trip is delayed again due to sister having a baby. Hopefully next wednesday and thursday now. Thanks again!
