Whichever brand and wt you decide to use, I think the high vis type line makes it a lot easier to see if you have lines crossed and aids in untangling the mess when a catfish or striper runs sideways through all the lines.

4-10. Whatever is spooled. Pulling a jig thru water ain't scientific. Big jigs on big line rule applies.

#6 (sometimes #4) Mr. Crappie Hi-Vis yellow is all I use for long lining.

I use a line from BPS called Offshore Angler in 4, 6, 8, and 10 for different purposes with good results. I personally won't troll with less than 6 and generally run 8 on most of my spinning reels for trolling. Like Cane Pole said, it aint rocket science. The braid works well too and Power Pro has one that is graduated by color, handy for letting baits out to the same length more than once.

Mr. Crappie is to stiff, and way to much memory. Hi-Vis Vicious is great, very limp great, for tying knots, almost no memory. 6 to 8 pound is my choice. My second choice would be Triline extra tuff in 6 pound test...imho

6# vicious panfish hi viz. what ever you chose you want a hi viz color makes it a lot easier to watch your lines when making turns and what not. I like the vicious line it's not overly expensive and good line. A 2300 yd spool is less than $10
