That would be the game changer. Have you looked at the Humminbird Helix? And check with this guy before ordering or buying anything. I hear he has best pricing and service. http://www.crappie.com/crappie/-memb...pkg-1259-00-a/

yes i checked on the helix models also as they are super nice units also but seems like the side imaging and down imaging looks to be clearest picture coming from the garmin and lowrance for some reason ,but i may be wrong on that, either way with the new technology is incredible im sure they must be pretty equal, but they sure do get quite expensivel

After moving to Florida, I searched and searched for someone in the Lakeland area, to go crappie fishing with. I, like you was new at Crappie fishing, and wanted to learn!

After many pm's to Mike and Harold, asking a lot of questions, I am beginning to catch a few. Finding Crappie.com and all these helpful folks have made me a better fisherman.

    Thanks for listening and

All I can add is that time on the water and trying what you read here on CDC will get you going quick. WP chain is a sleeper with not too many fishing and lots riding. Traffic has changed since I spent time on it but the fish are there. Have to get the permit and they aren't forgiving if you don't have one. Worth every dime whatever the cost is now. Monroe and Harney both have their assets and Monroe is close to me too. I don't catch em like some of the others do but get enough to keep me FDH. Fat, Dumb and Happy. Welcome to the board, look forward to hearing of your progress. Bad days come with it. If it was all good everyone would be doing it.
