Default Kayak Trip Report, Swoope Pond, Courtland

I made a short trip to Swoope Pond this morning dropping a few fish attractors. I decided to jig a few areas not really expecting anything. The water was very muddy with visibility less then 6 inches and 54 degrees.

I didn’t expect it, but I picked a few eight to ten feet deep in ten to twelve feet of water. The best bait was a 1/16oz white Marabou jig. I fished for a couple hours returning four short Crappie and keeping eight. I didn’t stay long (honey do list today included me grilling chicken for the family) but a very successful short trip.

Will require a return trip to check out the attractors you dropped DB. Good job!

I plan to continue dropping a bundle and marking with GPS each trip I make to Swoope. The last couple I couldn't find with my fish finder, but was able to bump with a jig when my GPS said I was over it? I'm not sure why the PVC wasn't showing. It appears when dropped in deeper water, I've found a way to make stealth fish attractors, LOL!

Since the PVC is hollow, you will not get strong returns on your sonar. This does make them pretty tough to find.
