    Default PVC rod holders

In a conversation today at work, Alex and I talked about rod holders and I tried to describe the ones folks make from PVC. They work just fine and I remember one of us here in FL having them on their boat. It would really shorten my description if you could post some pics of yours and what size PVC they were made from. If I'm out in left field I'm gonna have to make some just to show him. Thanks in advance.

You can also use PVC to hold rods while moving or retying. Not fancy but they work.

    Now thats a cool idea................
    Thanks for sharing.
The pvc rod holders are attached to 1 1/8 x 1/4 inch thick steel "T" bar.
The up rod is 1/2 in threaded rod surrounded by 1 in alum rod with 3/8 hole drilled
through center. 3/8 " alum base plate with screwed to floor with 3/8" center hole
drilled and tapped to take threaded rod.
Can build a set of 8 like in picture for around $60.00 give or take/

Here is another style home made rod holder that can be made for about $65.00
everything the same except the rod holders are made of steel not pvc and they
have larger span on rod position. 8-9" Name: camera pictures 102.jpg

Size: 45.3 KB in vs pvc of 4 3/4"
It uses same 3/8" threaded rod, alum overlay, 3/8 base plate

Also they are easier to get rod out holder.

Thats $65.00 for set of 8................. vs tite-loc's set of 8 $260.00 plus tx or
    shipping ...

Fishermen are a creative bunch. Just on the topic of rod holders, I bet I've seen 2 or 3 dozen home made styles and about as many from tackle makers.

Thanks for the input guys. I did a search after I posted this and found the ones that Creekslick posted in 2010. Those are the ones I was looking for. But you're all right, we are a creative bunch here. Let someone get bored or cooped up in the cold and there's no telling what will come out of the workshop. If I knew how to link to the thread I spoke of I would. Maybe one of y'all is smarter than me and knows how. Thanks again......Skeet.
