Last summer I started pulling cranks with braid, to save lost baits...i still lost several...each time the snap would pull apart..Do you pull braid...how do you tie to the cranks..

Go back to mono, You will save rod tips, and a lot of Christmas trees and other manmade structures from being dragged away from original location. Braid is not good for Crappie fishing. My thoughts only. Sometimes, it is best to break off, if you can.

Boy I highly disagree with this, I have NOT broke any rods due to braid and pulled very few tops around due to it and I have been using it for 3 summers in which I may have lost 10 baits, I have lost 10 in one day pulling with mono.
Don, I don't use a swivel snap, I use a heavy snap tied with a polomar knot.

I use mono and braid both but I change the rings on the hooks to 2 1/2 fine and only leave the hooks and keep the the plug.

Braid the s the only way to go. I use 20 lb braid and never broke a rod tip. Set your drag just tight enough where it won't pullout while your pulling the cranks so it'll peel off on a snag.
