Default Phosphate pits in Lakeland (privet)

Unfortunately this isn't a place anyone can go fish but luckily I have access and love going here from time to time to get s good mess of fish! We fished yesterday morning and this morning brought home 30 yesterday morning and 27 this morning didn't keep any under 10" mostly on cane poles with minnows but did manage a few with jigs!! Love them dark fish!! Name: image.jpg

Wish i knew someone who knows someone that will allow a person an opportunity
to fish a few of the phosphat pits that inhabit Polk County. Almost all are closed to
outside world for one reason or another. (with justifyed reasons from insurance
coverage to just plain tresspassing, having no respect for the land owner or his
    land .
To me it would be like arriving at the Garden of Eden........I may get lucky some
day to fish one of those Halloed grounds on this earth.

That's where we are at dealing with someone who knows someone and my uncle actually has the permission so every time we go we have to drag him along weather he wants to go or not we just bribe him with beer lol!!

Took me 20 yrs of waiting to watch water get high enough to allow Gheenoe along
with Yelim go get into lake Buffum. Looking for the elusive 3 pounders there.

Didn't find any, few med sized spec's couple bass - one of which tangled 5 - 6 lines
we had out on troll..........finished our day

Haven't been to Surveyor's in 5 yrs. used to be pretty good small lake..........
fished it a lot until - came in one day - saw boat trlr in ditch 100 yrs up from
lake - no pull vehicle - fisherman in lake with boat - someone had stolen their
vehicle............ Not a good area in middle of Orange grove - by yourself
Be safer with side kick, or med caliber either will help you in pinch.

Phosphate pits below Fort Meade probably have some good potential, but only
fished it couple times with Gheenoe - got feeling from man on duty that i was not
one of the "good ole boys" he knew - hence, i was put into couple pits that couldn't
produce good bull heads............"You get my drift Vern" did have some big, big
gators there though, got my attention.
