Default Christmas Eve Perch Jerk 2015

Holy Cow what a change in conditions the last few days. Just this past weekend we had minnow buckets froze shut and dip nets froze to the floor of the boat. This morning was T-shirt weather and I even saw a guy on a jet ski today.

Despite the influx of water and abnormally warm temperatures, the perch cooperated again for us today. We fished from 8-12 and kept 59 perch and a bonus green carp that weighed nearly 6 lb. He was a fun catch on the jigging spoon. The perch were caught on spoons and minnows in 25-30 FOW. It seemed the fish moved up a little bit shallower. Water temp was 59 today. Total fish caught had to be 100+ again today.

I had a great time with family and that's what it's all about! Especially this time of the year. It's my little girl's first Christmas and she's already getting the hang of this present deal! Santa is bringing her a lifetime hunting and fishing license

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good bite!

Nice catch and nice family.....well, that gives me a little hope for next week. I'm off until the 4th and figured the water would be to high, to muddy, or to something but maybe I can hook something. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Congratulations Derrick!! Glad y'all got on them again. You have had some good trips. Should be having a fish fry soon...hint...hint. lol! You sure do have a cute little girl! Just think in a few years she'll be in the boat with you. The only thing I see wrong with that last picture is that label on that package. That's a fedx label not a ups label. LOL! Just had to point that out. LOL!

The question is who had to clean this time? I'm shooting for saturday. May see you on the Lake. Thanks for the report and pictures. Merry Christmas to you and your family!

And I had took part in the cleaning process this time! My dad didn't fish, but he helped clean! He said he thought there had to be a rule against that, but we sure appreciated the help. 4 knives rolling make quick work of that mess!

Great report Derrick and that little girl is precious. She will make a good fishing partner and I seem to remember back when you were still courting her Mama that she fished with you too, so that little girls got good genes.
Thanks for the report and Merry Christmas.
