Sounds like you've made that trip before, Cane. Forgot about the carp. That could be bad. Sounds like a good float trip. If I was 30 yrs younger and had a partner, it would be an adventure! Thanks for the info.

When we put in at Charleston (that's on Hwy 32 before you get to Webb) and go up river, there's a four way intersection not too terribly far up there. I am horrible with distances on the river, but it's a few miles for sure. Heading North (upstream) the river looks the same, we always call that the Tallahatchie, the river to the left we call the Coldwater, and the river to the right we don't have a name for. It is incredibly shallow and we've never gone up it before. Thought about it, but we usually fish depths when we're out there. No need.
I don't know if any of our guesses are right about those rivers. I figured I could find out from some of you guys, and now I have a better idea. I'm just going to have to spend some more time running them to see how they all come together.
The Asian carp are horrible right there at that intersection, too.

@ bigcrappiemax....give us a report when you do it. Be interested to hear your experience.

My dad and I fished these areas up until I was 16. His health got the best of him so we didn't fish that much after that.
The floodway and channel were being dug during that time so some has changed since then.
From hwy 32 upstream the Tallahatchee (Coldwater) will be on your left, the floodway will be forward and Tillatolia creek will be to your right.

Gotcha. Thanks for clearing that up. I probably never would have guessed that creek to the right. There ain't much to the creek, but them big cats feed at the mouth, right at the drop. We generally catch some good fish right there. Of course, we're having to swat the carps down and chase the ones we miss through the boat. Fun fun.

Just don't throw those carp back in.

They are worm food when they leave the boat! There are no survivors.
