Andrews. Apologize if I came off wrong didn't mean to in any way. And to your point no question studying a map is helpful I was just pointing out as Rees guide said who posted above because of water levels and other factors grenada can be a crap shoot it can of course be superb but at the same time the most unpredictable place-spring time especially you will find

again sorry to offend. Wasn't trying to and again I apologize

Lake Washington is almost as good as Grenada, it's smaller so wind shouldn't be as bad, also don't have the water fluctuation. Wouldn't be hard to find a guide either. I know Meatgetter jigs on the ark page does some guiding there.

Poverty is good in spring also. Last year was by far the worst I've seen on numbers but prolly the best on size yet. I caught several over 2.8 this spring including a 2.14 and a 3.1

Andrews I do have a Hummingbird depth finder gps but no di or si. Also I'm not to proficient with it. The guide and cabin money is not an issue as my wife and I would just treat it like a mini vacation and my daughter and son in law whom I've semi-converted to a perch jerker from a bass master would love to tag along too. I think after driving all that way there I would hate to scratch so I'm leaning to hiring a guide. I'm not after numbers just a nice size sac a lait pic and some good thumps and pulls. 12oz to 24 oz is my favorite eating size and I fish enough to always have that on hand to cook or give away. I really appreciate the comments gang, there is so much knowledge and willingness to help on this forum. I find myself peeking in many times throughout the day. And night which reminds me I'm going to Verret in a few hours with my grandson. I'll send a report.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do, sounds like it's a jam up place at times.

Always wanted to fish Grenada. One of the many things on my Bucket List. There is a town about 6 or 8 miles from there that is the same as my last name, definetely want to make a visit there one day.

I here a lot about Poverty and would like to try it some time, Lake Washington is a great lake as well, one of my favorite spring lakes and normally 3 or 4 weeks ahead of Grenada as far as spawn.

And don't forget Caney Lake between Chatham and Jonesboro. 5 of the top 9 Record Black Crappie came from there.
I fish 7 days a week; some days for fish, everyday for men.

I've fished Grenada and am also from south la... It's not that hard to fish.. The problem is the timing ... Get it right it's fantastic but if the corps messes with water levels could be tough.. It's a muddy lake but don't let that discourage you .. Did well when I fished it but never caught that big one.. Bring your boat and take a guide ..it is the best crappie lake in America but for me poverty point tops it.. It's small , easy to learn and average fish the last two years rivals the big lake of Grenada .. May fish all day for 10 fish but it's worth it .. But yes go... Wish I could fish them all Grenada , Washington , eagle , the bend , darbonne, caney, caddo. The res.... And the list goes on lol..
