#8. Point well taken. Agree with every point. Finally, I too find quick responses can be ill timed. Thank you for posting this and a very Merry Christmas to all and remember
the true reason for the season.![]()

From another (automotive) forum, author unknown. I thought he had some great points. Thought I'd share with the CDC folks.
"With written communication it is not always easy to avoid
being misunderstood and I think many disagreements may
result. This can result in enemies which I feel are
unfortunate and unnecessary. I find the following helps me
and offer them to anyone interested.
1.) When reading a post or a reply try to remember we are
all in this together and assume what is said is NOT intended
to offend anyone.
2.) When replying, avoid the words 'you and your' which tend
to imply something personal. For instance instead of "You
handled that wrong," we might state, "Suppose this was
handled like . . ."
3.) If something seems offensive or directed at you, wait
before replying. Re-read the post later, considering
alternative meanings. If it is clearly an attack, let it go.
We really do not have to defend every slight, just let it
go.
4.) Rather than absolutes, acknowledge that other may see
things differently. Instead of this IS, try I believe . . .
5.) Try not to tell people they are wrong. Instead we can
say "We disagree" or "What I have seen is . . ." When we
find the other person is right, this makes it a lot easier
6.) When a mistake is made, freely acknowledge it and
apologize for the error.
7.) Appreciate the effort people put into their posts even
if you cannot appreciate the content. Others may find it
useful, even when we don't. If the post is not relevant just
pass it by.
8.) There is a lot of negativity in the world, never miss a
chance to contribute something positive.
Finally, to anyone I have offended this year, please accept
my apology as it was not my intent. Please believe ignorance
explains far more than malice "
Please have a Merry Christmas and a Great New Year

A whole lot of good points, with an emphasis on point 8.
I always say this, life is too short, why make enemies when you can make friends instead. And it applies to posting online as well.
