    Default Blue Mtn Saturday

ok, blind hog and acorn thing here.....was told to fish the river....but I figured the current would be too strong for 2 old fat men to handle safely.....went to the lake found 35 10 inch and above.....only caught 3 throwbacks which is unusual.....anyways found an ole cooler at the farm as seen in the side of the picture...but a lot easier for a fat boy to simply turn and drop in the bucket. Caught them 12 to 20 ft deep....some in the channel....some off a point....some in a small bay.....some on minnows....some on minnow critters with minnows....some on Nimrod special...and a couple swallowed a white road runner with a junebug yellow tail joker....

Lake fell at least 1 ft during the day.....but the river was up 12 to 13 ft at Booneville by Sunday morning at 11.....so I am sure the lake will fill back up today and tomorrow.

Since I only seem to catch fish 2 weekends a year...this will certainly be my last post for 2015 so MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL.

Wow, sounds like they were everywhere, biting everything. Was there anything they definitely wouldn't bite? LOL, that's the one I'd have been fishing with. Way to go. Nice post.

Nice to see good crappie coming out of Blue Mountain. My family has been coming down there from Oklahoma for over 35 years. My grandpa helped build the lake back in the 40's so it's a pretty special place. I've been fishing the lake since the early 90's. I now bring my wife, kids and grandkids there at least once a year. We never catch big numbers but catch some quality fish. Great catch and Merry Christmas to you to.
