    Cool Norman 12/13


    Trolled up 10 Stirpers and Hybrds on Sunday. Caught the first crappie I have ever seen hit an a rig on a downrigger it was 28 ft down in 45 ft of water!!! Crappie measured 18 inches

    Welcome and what a great first post. That's a prize Crappie for sure. What type Striper bait did he hit.......a buck tail? Nice catch of the Stripes and Whipes also.

    That is a nice crappie, you dont catch them like that every day! That fish should be over 3 lbs, if its 18 inches long. A wall hanger for sure! Some people fish there whole like for a fish that big, and some never catch one that big.

    I caught it on a a-rig with swim shads 3.5 inches. Did not fill right to consider it a real crappie catch.When I fish for crappie I normally jig with light line. The trolling gear was a little bit overkill but he still put up a great fight on striper gear.

    Great crappie. Never had crappie hit my a-rigs, but the white perch sure will jump on them.

    White perch do jump all over them. I use Chamberlain release's that you dial in for light hits on the downrigger and not drag them around all day
