    Default fish tactic.....?

i have been wondering what are some of you guys tactic that you use when fishing. I'm more use to a more slow style which it most likely typical, where the fish decides that he is going to take the line slowly creeping away with the cork. one of the guys that i work with, if the cork flinches ever so slightly he's on the hook set and this guy continuously limits out. i was always taught that you wait till the fish takes off with the cork. maybe this is something I'm not use to and will have to practice a little more in the future. when i get out i do catch but nothing extravagant more or less a quart bag. just something i can try to ask help from you guys.

I tend to fish real fast because I'm excited. I switch baits pretty quick until I get a bite then I stick to that color. After the first 30 min I slow down. There were some guys yesterday fishing with a cork and jig, and they were popping it like you would a red fish, they caught a few. The cork attic is not one of my go to tactic but each his own.

My belief is that during the spawn, the males will often just inhale and move the bait from the bed. Thus giving a slight twitch to the cork as he isn't trying to eat the bait.
It is not what you do for your children, but what you have taught them to do for themselves, that will make them successful human beings.

I fish when the cork slightly moves I set it. Cobayashi bream fishing is when you got to wait for the whole cork to go under. Sacalait inhale the bait most of the time when the whole cork goes under by the time you set the hook he is letting the bait go. I tend to use a small cork that way I can see any movement in it

I used to wait for the cork to go under and think I lost a lot of fish...lately I have been setting the hook on any wiggle...had one the other day come up from below and took the shiner and sat there with the cork laying on its side....after a moment I set the hook and it was a 13" slab......also, fishing with shiners the other day, the bass were just taking it and holding it in their mouth while some would run with it....once my cork did not move for a while so I went to pick it up and place it somewhere else...when I lifted it up there was a 3# bass on it.....and the cork never moved......it is hard to tell sometimes because I like to fish with big shiners and they will move the cork themselves.....

i also use a small cork 1-1/2" with 1/32oz jig head so any movement i can see, evidently i need to re-adjust my fishing style. i have gotten some good tips from my buddy i work with, i always wondered why the heck he caught so many and i struggled to catch 4-6 at a time. i guess i was so used to redfish where they take the whole thing like a thief and had places to get, that i accustomed to that style.

ahh well, you live and you learn

This may not be what was asked, but I can give you my tactics as they change during the year.
Pre-spawn - I cast jigs and roadrunners to points leading into known spawning coves.
Spawn- this is splits between jig pole around trees and shiners under cork to known spawning banks. When jigging, even the slightest movement of the cork = hook set. With shiners, it depends on how the fish are acting. Most of the time, the cork just takes off. Other times, it flattens out. I only give fish time wit it if they are tipping the cork up.

Post spawn - casting jigs under cork in swamp lakes and jigging grass lines in impoundments. Both are immediate hook set.

    Summer - I go nothing.

Fall - same as impoundment post spawn. Casting jigs to grass lines.

    The end.

    I need new/more tactics.

That's exactly right for me. I can see the shiner rising and moving about, the cork moves a lot during this time. For some reason, I like to see the cork constantly moving about due to the shiner action. I set the hook when the cork goes under because I know the shiner can't do that. Interesting thoughts you fellas have.
