New ride will be here after the 1st of the year. Narrowed my troll motor selection to 3 choices: The tried and true Fortrex, the Terrova, or the Cadillac of them all, the Ulterra. In 30 years, I have I've always had a cable steer motor and now I think it's time to get in the 21st century. My ears are open....I wanna hear what you experts have to say.

If all you do is troll u will love the terrova or ulterra. If u are like me and single pole and troll I would suggest both the cable motor and terrova. They make a bracket that allows you to swap them pretty quick. I keep both motors in my boat most of the time so I fish how I want.
Definitely not an expert. I changed over to the Terrova early this year from a cable steer. The foot control takes a little time to get used to. Once you learn to watch the head of the motor for direction it gets easier to run. It seems to not wear my leg out as bad as the cable steer does.

All of the ^^^^
And that about sums this one up!!!
We only sell the Best. Ranger, Xpress, Yamaha, Suzuki, Tohatsu.
Don't jig much so cable foot control is not an issue for me. I use the terrova, I still get tired when I go fishing but I'm no longer worn out from pumping that *X!*xx* foot control. Remote control is the cats' meow.

As you said, the Ulterra is the Cadillac. You don't have to climb over pole holders, sonar units, etc. to stow or deploy. Also, if you want to make a quick short move, just rollup the lines, raise the motor head out of the water and use the outboard. 112# thrust has lots of power for trolling.
Just get up and "gofishin". The fish are waiting!
