I use spyder lok and like them a lot, mainly because of there ease in adjusting. Down side for me is as you said, " when one fish bumps every pole," When you find the cure let me know.

I love my SpyderLoks, they fit every style of trolling I do and fit it well. As far as sturdy, well I had a pretty good size fellow hanging off one of mine and it didn't break, it did bend but I figured it was gone but it held.

Attwood get them at Walmart. Put one every 2' around the entire boat. You will be as sturdy as you will ever need. And you will be as versatile to fish any method. Pushing pulling and side pulling.

HiTeks. When it ain't broke, don't fix it. Scott is good to deal with and is working on a rail system base for my Excel.

Buy what works in your boat and style of fishing...It's not always about the equipment

Spyder looks are the best, but I have been thinking about cutting the upright post and replacing it with something more solid.

Not knocking HiTeks but the Model-T weren't broke but it sure has been fixed a lot over the years and in the same token Scott has modified his products over time as well. he is very good to deal with and very inventive but he is not the only one out there that is in that class.
I use the kind I mentioned earlier because it fits my needs the best and of good quality, I try hard to stay away from saying something is "The Best" because that's just opinion.
Lot of good designs out there and I know of several that swore by one type just a year ago that have changed up what they are doing for whatever reason, lot of times that reason is sponsorship of some sort.
