Gonna take the kayak down to the upper end of Tchefuncte River tomorrow and fish around some of the docks just south of the launch in Covington. Not very experienced fishing for the Sac Au Lait but want to learn. Gonna just cast and tight line some jigheads with plastic on them around the docks and shoreline. Any other tid bits of info would be appreciated. Usually fish with colors like black/green, blue/white on 1/16 black jighead. Sometimes under a cork but usually just cast and tightline back...I'll post a report tomorrow evening...

RETIRED LOUISIANA CRAPPIE HUNTER
Made a short trip...fished about an hour or so around a few docks, some blow downs, trees along the bank, about 6-10 feet off the bank. No sac au lait to show for it but did catch some bream and a couple of small bass. Warmed up to about 70* today. Hope to make another quick trip Friday afternoon and sometime on Saturday.
All fish caught tight lining black/chartreuse plastic on 1/16 oz black jig head.
Osnola, welcome aboard my friend. You putting in at 4th street? If so, I'd say try the docks on the east side of the river, just north of I12. I recommend pitching to the center most point, under the docks. Also, keep an eye out for laydowns on the way. I know there are few that hold fish. My favorite color is pumpkin/char, blue/char, or anything silver with silver flake. Good luck this weekend. Take some pics.
good info sac and theres fish up river from the launch too.
