The last couple state record Black Crappie came from small public lakes . Ola Dale is where the 4 lb 9 oz record was caught in the mid 1970's, it is a no gas motor lake only 5 miles from my home . .11-year-old Donivan Echols pulled a true slab from the commission's Lake Wilhelmina to beat it out at 5 lbs ! Cedar Piney west on Danville has a no outboard motor rule being a water supply but has produced fish well over 3 lbs . The list is long and some lakes are cyclic and do not produce lots of fish every year just like the bigger waters .Anyone willing to look can find good fishing waters nearby . Several communities have great fishing lakes with limited access for example Hot Springs Village , just to name one. Several water systems have great fishing lakes like Brewer , Maumelle , and Beaverfork just to name a few .
