    Default Wateree 12/6

I fished every piece of brush there is.Found out ya'll have caught every crappie in Wateree.Did have a lot of fun catching Stripers on my crappie jigs and minnow.Ended up keeping a 26", two 22" and four smaller Stripers along with some Perch and catfish. Also had a 15+lb. striper pop the lines at the boat with my finger in his mouth and I drop him back in the water.I will report if I ever catch a crappie.

Sounds like a fun time regardless. Do you fillet the cats or skin them whole? I never use to keep them because I did not want the hassle of skinning them, then I saw a guy fillet and skin some 3 to 5 pound ones like you do a bass or crappie. Guess I never thought about trying that until I saw him do it. Sure speeds up the process.

I'm guessing you prolly don't want to hear the results from the CAPP tournament at wateree this weekend...

I like to just keep the 1-2 pound cats and skin them whole. These I did cut off the bone after I skint them. SeaRay check your PM.

    b10,

there's still crappie in wateree we fished it saturday, in a tourney and the winning weight for 7 fish was 12.72lbs---that was the CAPP tourney top 4 places were over 12lbs. You might want to check in a couple of the creeks singleton, wateree creek to name a few @ 18' of water. It'll change soon and the fish will be on the main lake on riverbanks (there's some there now) but they seem to be scattered with the better quailty fish @ bait in the creeks. Good Luck.

That sounds like a pretty good trip in my book. The striper that's facing away from the boat,,is that the one that got away??Double digit stripers in wateree are very hard to come by,( or I should say for me anyway). Thanks for sharing the report and pictures..keep em coming,I've been "arm chair" fisherman lately ,,so I sure enjoy reading the post and pictures of others trips.
