Looks like a Kahle hook to me. I've never used them, or owned any ... but, several decades ago a friend of mine used a jighead with that style hook when we were Smallmouth fishing in Tenn, with a jighead/minnow setup. At that time I was using a weedless jighead, made in Texas by Terry Oldham, called the Oldham's Surelock Weedless Crappie jig. Terry Oldham stopped making the Crappie jigs around 2006, but I had converted over to Grousefly's Y guard style jigheads around 2001, so that wasn't a major deal for me.

Those are good looking ties, and likely to catch a bunch of fish. But, those hooks look pretty stout, so I wouldn't think one could bend them open with light line very easily, should they get hung up. One of the main reasons I stayed with the weedless jigheads by Oldham, and then Grousefly !!

Wide gaps - the new do it bat jig mold use's them but a bunch of guys on Lake Champlain use them.

Not the same as the bat jig. That hook has a 90 degree angle. The bat jig is 60 I think

Haven't seen a EWG in 90 degrees yet, cool deal. I'm sure they'll work great.

i will sure enough say I got a batch of soft sickles a while back and the jigs come back to me if I hang them up on things ,,,,,
including larger crappie ......so to be sure I bet these here hooks don't bend out easily .
all that said I think I am going to be rather selective on where I drop those for sure .

i asked my bud what those hooks were called
and the man calls these Eagle claw wide gap hooks ......
and yes they are lip rippers btw ....

The hooks in the bat jigs are 35 degree. These look like a Mustad wide gap but I don't recall them coming in a gold plate.

The bat head uses a 35 degree hook. I know that Mustad had a wide gap but not in gold plate. Not sure that EC had one but then who knows.....so many different hooks have come and many gone.
