Crappie Queen and I started out on Crescent lake at the city ramp around 7:30 this morning. Winds were just about calm and I was excited to get started. We motored about 5 miles to our place of choice and began setting up. I got Eileen all set and was working on getting my rods set up when I looked back in Eileen's direction and noticed water coming up out of the floor drain. Well that started the scramble around the boat and I figured we had less than 10 minutes before we were going to sink. I turned on the bilge pump and it ran for less than one minute and quit. Long story short we managed to get control of things and slowly motored back to the ramp. When I finally figure what had happened I found the cap on the pump for the aerator for the live well had come off and let the water come rushing in. I could tell you this was a pretty good scare. My boat is at the shop getting two new pumps installed. needless to say no fish were caught today by us. Hope to have better luck next time.

We've all had those moments at one time or another. Those days become the ones you learn most from over the years, but is a great day anytime no one gets injured. There will always be another day to fish.
(Took me a long time to learn that and putting myself in some really stupid situations, but glad I have that wisdom at a relatively young age)
