    Default Tying Grey Ghost

These jigs look like they were tied with feathers (nice jigs Skip). What kind of feathers do people use to get a look like this?

Here is another jig that is similar that I'm interested in tying. I'm just getting started and I'm not sure what materials I need to tye something similar.

    Here's what I think I need:
    • Feather (mallard?)
    • Flashabou (1mm?)
    • Glittery Chenille

For the chenille I like the New Age Chenille at Crazy Angler, looks like he might be out of stock of a couple other colors I'd want but for Gray Ghost the Grey Perl is in stock.

    Thanks for you help!

    Okay here you go....

Neck Hackle (Chicken) and preferably Salt Water Neck Hackle by Hareline, but regular Neck Hackle will work fine!
Flashabou brand in standard size which is 1/64" wide.
Chenille will depend on color you want as base and what color flash in it?

Note: Also to tie the Gray Ghost you also need some Black Hackle as if you tie a tail like I do then you use one tip and 2 or 3 V's. For the Gray Ghost you need 2 Gray V's and one Black V! Most of mine are tied on a minnow head also.

Look at my post and links about this and watch the video's and what ever else for description. If after this you need something just PM me.

PS. I also have tied a lot of them like the real original ones were tied and that was no tip and all V's, probably 4 or 5 of them with one being Black!

Here is one more like they are really suppose to look! http://thumpitjigs.com/images/DSC07528.JPG

And they work VERY well. After several posts about them I tied some of my own and keep them in my box all the time. One of the go to's in my bag of tricks.

Got my supplies fro Crazy Angler yesterday and tied a few but wasn't happy with them. Tried again tonight and feel I'm getting the hang of it, cranked out one I'm proud of.
