If you can afford it buy yourself a simple crappie measuring device to make sure your catch is legal. You will be surprised at how many tape measures are inaccurate or different from one to another. Try to get a hard plastic or aluminum measure device. It will not stretch, shrink, bend or rust. Better to be legal than pay a fine or worst yet take potential future spawners out of the lake.
