I sure wish I could join yall this Friday! It should be a good day for fishing. My fishing trips have been very limited since the new baby. Last time I fished Murray for crappie was Labor Day. I did go out twice last month and caught a nice mess of perch both trips. Minnows were best but I did catch a few on spoons. 25-30 FOW was best then, but I'm sure it's changed because that was several weeks ago.
Latest crappie report I heard was brush!! Find brush and find fish!
Ray I was a JC"s saturday morning and they only had shad no herring. You may want to call them on Thursday to check but now they had plenty of minnows. While y'all are there you need to get a breakfast sandwich. It comes with egg, cheese and either with bacon, sausage or ham i think. Heck I always get it with bacon and toasted. MMMMMM goooood!!! They also have good tea.

Not being a SA John, I just don't know how the rain may affect the bite. The lake is up anyway from all the rains but the water looked decent and I did not see a bunch of trash floating around, but that was from riding over several bridges, not actually out on the water. Only thing I can promise is the lunch will be good.

Where is the best bait stop for us uplanders ? We commin 77 to 20 to 378 . And in a big hurry. And my Dawgg is always hungry so a biscuit would be nice also.
Ofishlbizzness what landing are y'all using?
Y'all are letting out of Shull Island, right? Dooley's bait and Tackle or JC's are good plus you can get a biscuit. Y'all have fun and catch plenty of fish.
Well I guess I can give the fantastic results of today's meet and eat on Murray. We met .Then ate. Oh and some fishing was done in between. Well some of us fished. Well those other guys fished. Me and The Dawgg was on a mission. But as usual everything went flop for us. After getting bait and a samich at Dooleys we missed the turn for the ramp. U-Turn. About 3 miles from the ramp one of us remembered ...Hey we aint put gas in the boat.. U-Turn.... Gas up and hit the ramp. Everyone was already pulling out. After a few misunderstood directions on where to go. We missed the turn.. Oh well lots of water so lets fish. Did I mention the 3-4 foot swells coming up the lake. 20 mph. wind . Shoulda made a U-TURN and went back to the ramp. But we struggled on in the 20 knot breeze and sunami type waves to a cove somewhat out of the breeze. Motor off ..Trolling motor down. No trolling motor. Battery was dead. Was charged 2 days. Must have a dead cell. Should have made a U-Turn and went back to ramp. Finally after some redneck engineering we got the TM up and working. Wasnt long ..Fish on. Big ole white perch. After several miles it seemed like of trolling our buddy calls wanting to know how we were doing. WELL NOT SO GOOD WE SAID. Ya'll come over here they say. . We tearing em up. Where ya at? Well after a few more lost in the dark directions we tried another spot. Never found those other guys. Still no fish and TM blinked out on us again. So we made a U-TURN and headed to the ramp. They was already there wantin to know where we was. Aint that a bad question to ask somebody that was lost for 4 hrs? Anyway we had fun . Gotta make the best of a bad situation. Good to see all ya'll again. Thanks Ray for gettin it up. Next time we gonna tie a rope to you and we wont get lost. Great day being out anyway.
I enjoyed ya'lls company today too John and Ron sorry you went around the wrong island will try to do better next trip
