    Default Congrats to Les

They are reporting now that he will keep his job. I say kudos to him , his record speaks for itself. He took the high road when the crap Hit the fan and it paid off for him. Congrats to him!!!

I've had the privilege of listening to some of Miles locker room speeches and I can see why the kids love him. I'm convinced that the babbling he does in front of the camera is an act. However, I believe keeping him is a mistake. I think him being a good guy, keeps him from firing the ones that he feels he is loyal to, even when they are hurting the team.

Based on what I see and hear about his freshman class and recruits this year next year he will ba a hero again. It's the ebb and flow of the game.

I hope you are right Cappy, but I fear that LSU has become Next Year University. I really feel Miles can be a valuable asset, if he finds a coordinator (or quits playing offensive coordinator) that can produce something more than a 1 dimensional offense.

I say give him next year but if he doesn't produce next year, it is time for him to go. Remember the team he has this year is still young but should be much better next year.

I'm an Arkansas guy, so I really don't have a dog in the Les Miles fight, but I think he's a good coach and I was surprised that there was talk to replace him. Just the name LSU is a recruiting tool by itself and you guys always have NFL players going high in the draft every year. I think this year, Fournette has had a huge load put on his shoulders and HE can't do it by himself. Fans don't want to blame the player, so the coach gets the blame. Les Miles needs to find a QB.

The SEC West is tough and you can't honestly expect to win it year after year. I think Arkansas has only won the West maybe three times, but then again we're lowly old Arkansas! Personally, I'm sick of Alabama and Auburn, but LSU has always kinda been like the team that I root for other than my Razorbacks. I hate Texas A&M! Arkansas and LSU have always played tough and have really had some memorable games!

I think Les Miles is a good coach and LSU wouldn't be able to replace him with a better one, unless you could try to get Bobby Petrino to leave Louisville.

Keep your coach and be happy with him. All he does is win...........most of the time. Just my 2 cents worth. GTT

There is no doubt that he is a good coach (great father figure as per the players) and a great recruiter. I'm all for keeping him for those reasons; however, for the better half of 11 years he has failed to develop any type of passing attack. It is hard to blame multiple QBs for their lack of development, but there is always the chance that some of top high school QBs just couldn't adjust to the college game. I believe his ground and pound attack will continue to win games, because of simply overpowering your opponent, but it is going to lose multiple games also. I will say the Mettenberger did produce, unfortunately LSU was rebuilding their defense then.

I really don't buy into the 'can't replace him with a better one' arguement though. There are multiple coaches achieving with less; e.g. Houston, TCU, Baylor, Memphis, etc.

Looking at the past 5 years, LSUs SEC record has gradually gotten worse, with the exception of this year; 8-0, 6-2, 5-3, 4-4, 5-3. They are also 1-3 in bowl games during this tenure, pending this year's outcome.

I think the fact that SEC West foes wanting LSU to keep Les should raise a flag.
