    Default Making Progress Rickie

Electronic control circuit is complete. I generated the pcb artwork (cad) and ordered a pcb. I plan to use a pan and tilt motor configuration. Well, I should say reel and tilt. I plan to use torsion springs to hold the stick in place when deployed in the water instead of a rigid mount approach. I had to create electric brakes for the lift motor as I experienced motor "creep" after lifting 10 pounds vertical. Easy fix. I ordered some 180 degree torsion springs @ 10 in lbs of torque. I believe I can use multiple torsion springs in paralleled to meet required torque. This we will have to experiment with as it is impossible to calculate in a fluid (moving) motion. My calculations are in the static state x 2. Good start. Waiting on parts. It is too premature to configure the mechanical lift til I get the motors moving (pan and tilt configuration).

The circuitry design is from the 60's. No microprocessor nor any random logic ICs. Just waterproof micro relays, waterproof micro switches and a voltage regulator.

I have a few more fishing trips before I pull the Pondtoon off the lake. Probably start first of the year, maybe sooner.

    Fun project.

Cewlbeanz Tom ... I may still investigate other lift ideas also ...

I doubt I could ever incorporate a lift design into the product for public sale ... I'm afraid it would make the price point too unattractive (even with the added convenience factor) ...

But it is fun experimenting with these ideas ... Keeps my mind working ...

I do have a box full of 12v motors and levelwind track bars and such I may experiment with ...

    Rickie

PS ... I sure wish I knew circuitry like you do ... that's mind boggling to me ...

Yes, I understand product COGS. This is a special safety device for me and Billbob. No sense in taking a chance falling out the boat when you can push a button and deploy the transducer. My pondtoon is made around my disabilities and conveniences.

I'm certainly no expert... but upon a cursory review of the schematic... I believe I see a potential flaw in the vexation modulation control unit. Please make the necessary changes and get back to me.

RICKIE AND TOM,WHAT ARE U TRYING TO MAKE,A LIFTER FOR RICKIE'S DUCER MOUNT? I HAVE A SIMPLE LIFT FOR MY DUCER, IT IS CLOSE TO THE LIFTER THAT I MADE FOR TM FOR DON AND MYSELF BUT THAT MAY NOT BE WHAT U GUYS WANT,I LOVE MINE.TOM U MAY NOT BE TALL BUT U ARE WAY OVER MY HEAD

My mount is way out there! I don't feel safe getting out on the pontoon front to retract and deploy the transducer. I have to hang on to the pole holder for balance.

I am gonna make it self deploy and retract. This is simple to do. I added motor current protection to the circuit so I won't cut my fingers off if it "gets hold my fingers".. ha

You can see my concerns from this picture. I have had several mishaps already. I also have serious vertigo issues (Menieres disease). Ima just watching out for me. I just like tinkering.

Tom is building his own circuitry design da'ducer apparatus® push button lifter ...

It may help him and billbob from falling out of the boat reaching down to get ahold of da'ducer apparatus® to retract it into the boat ...

I plan to use a cable lift for the economics of the lift. I first planned to use a rack and spur gear type lift, but they be proud of those rack gears and spur gears (even China). For the record I know rack and spur make fantastic "thing movers".
