    Default Tis the Season

Well, it is officially the season for giving. With that in mind I called my son-in-law and asked if he could get out of bed and be at my house at 5:30. Y'all have asked enough people to go and they're all on board til the leave time comes into play. I'm happy to say he didn't flinch and will be here in the morning and we'll go meet HS on Harney and see what develops. This will be the first time we have fished together and I'm looking forward to it. Big Time. All I need now is a little sleep and the clock to go around. I hope he finds at least one Piggie to light the fire in him. He already hunts a lot and is a real good hand with a rifle, so maybe Crappie can be added to the list. See Y'all there......

PS- I'm bringing the camera this time.

PPS- Dug out this pic from back in March when he became my Son-in-law. He's the smile, my Daughter Megan to his left and my Queen on the left. Taken at Paula Deans in Savannah during the reception. Yes, the food is as good as they say. Best weekend of my life.

Good deal! We will have to make a run to the skeet club one Sunday when forecast is too bad for fishing.

You're on Mike. Haven't broken clays in a while. And yes, I'm bringing him back. I'd troll with the ex son-in law for gator.

There is nothing like fishing with your son in-law, but can i rent one due to the fact i have three daughter in-laws, the one thing i'd noticed is how all the bills went down now that they are all married, the one that really went down was the grocery bill. The funny thing is the food bill for the holidays went up triple, but that's the great thing family being together.

    Default SUCCESS!!!!

As agreed on Mike was here at 5:30 and off we went. Stop for fuel and coffee and next stop is the ramp where Speck Detector was making his rig ready for the day in the parking lot. Stepped out and Huntinslabs is hollerin for us to hurry up. I'm in good company. Crapslabstu was already headed for the lake and was seen going north later in the day. Slow is the only description fitting the first hour or so and we didn't give up hope. Started on the north end and though we got a couple I knew there was better to be had. Somewhere. If I could only find somewhere. Worked our way west without much improvement and finally headed south to where my GPS tracks showed where I had fished a few weeks back and started getting a bit more busy. Mike showed me up catching the majority of the fish and the larger of them too. Having told him how to manage a good fish and not pull them free on the way to the ramp I have to say he's a quick study. No fish that we started to the boat got free. His big fish was a sneeze under 14" and over 1 1/2" thick. 12 made the clicker and 5 made the live well for him to take home, a full quart bag of fillets. The wind did the exact opposite of Wednesday by calming down about 9:30 instead of turning to gale force. We rolled em in at about 9:30 as he had another Thanksgiving dinner to get to at his Mom's and had that not been the case i would still be there. It was downright pleasant as we headed for the ramp. Here's the pics as promised, and his friends had already seen them from his phone. He was a happy boy. I don't think this will be a one and only trip. Thanks for sharing this first trip of ours, I really enjoyed it.
