    Default Friday On Oconee 11/27/15

After our road trip this past Tuesday, Kowboy and I recovered and fished Oconee today. This was our first time on Oconee together since October 12. We arrived at the Sugar Creek ramp at 7:30 and headed down the lake towards Lick Creek. Our plan was to check out spots at mid lake and then fish back towards Sugar Creek. We started in the mouth of Lick Creek and the water temperature was 54 degrees. Kowboy was pushing out of the front of the boat and I was long lining out of the back. Before we could get all of the rods out Kowboy landed a nice 14 inch fish. The bite was very good early. We fished until lunch and had 14 fish in the cooler. After eating our lunch we headed north to our next stop and began fishing at 1:00 p.m. We fished until 4:00 p.m. and caught 11 more good fish including a 15 inch fish caught by Kowboy. This was his third 15 inch fish of the week. The bite slowed around 3:00 p.m. as the boat traffic picked up. The boat traffic was the heaviest I had seen since the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. We ended the day with 25 good fish. The following colors worked very good: popsicle, acid rain, white/yellow/char slider, blue/clear/sparkle and wilcat. We seemed to catch most of the fish in 28-30 feet of water fishing between 8-16 feet deep.

We managed to catch some good ones today. I agree with you on the boat traffic. I could not believe all the people out riding. The water temp was 59 degrees and we seen about 10 jet skis running around. The main lake was still stained some of the creeks was starting to clear.

Any way you can put a picture of the popsicle bait. I'm not familiar with it.
