    Default Oklahoma deer season success.

Who's been out, and what have you got?

The last two days for me has been phenomenal. two does and a trophy buck. I live and breathe to deer hunt. Crappie fish to fill in the time between.

The does are 116lbs and 112 lbs respectively. The buck is 12 points, weighed 182 lbs. All field dressed weights.
Green score on the buck is 160 5/8 B&C.

Very nice! We've not had much luck at all. This will be the 4th year we've been trying to get my son his first buck...still trying lol. Had a 1/4 section near billings for 3 years and just didn't see much(he passed a 4 point the first year, his choice not mine) so this year I got in on a 5000 acre place up by Alva. And although in the long run it will be fantastic, The issue there this year is that the guys want to manage it heavily but with the drought our population is super low so there are very few "shooters" and we aren't shooting any does. Anyway, hopefully with the next 2 weekends even with the crazy weather our luck will change.

Good luck for the rest of your season.
I'm just 60 miles east of you and we had major die-off of deer as well. Mostly fawns because mama couldn't get enough water to make milk. Can't tell you how many fawn skulls we found while shed hunting. Our bucks are really big or yearlings. We are missing the middle class of bucks. The 2 1/2-3 1/2 year old bucks are nowhere to be seen. We are shooting does. They didn't have a problem coming back. We have a DMAP program going on the area, so the biologists are setting the limits for us.
