Quick, someone teach me how to fish so I can win this tournament!!!
Quick update. Surgery went great this morning, at least that's what they tell me. Arrived at 6:30am and left by 1pm. I had to pass a few tests to leave the surgery center.
Goal one, walk a lap around the surgery center.
Then walk up and down about a half dozen steps, twice.
Eat and Urinate.
Passed all with flying colors. Currently in my recliner, leg propped up above my heart. Took two Vicodin, not sure I need it yet. They gave me a pain blocker and I don't feel a thing. Ice machine is running. Life is great. Just got done with a nap too. Only downside is no booze until I'm off the pain pills.

Update on the support structure. I ended up using 2" pvc pipe and fittings. Sorry no pictures. Got it done yesterday, end of day, rushed for time. Quick visual idea of my design.
The ridge pole is in two lengths. Short piece is about 3' and runs from the bow to the back edge of the bow seat, then a 22.5 degree elbow, the rest runs to the back of the boat and stops just short of the engine. I put 3 four-way fittings in the ridge pole run. The 1st four-way is on top of the bow seat, it has 1' pieces going towards the gunwale. I guess it simulates a walk through windshield. Then I split the ridge pole from the bow seat to the aft deck in 3 section. Added a 2 four-ways in that section, each has 2' pieces going toward the gunwales. At the end of the ridge pole, over the aft deck, I put a tee. Each leg off the tee is 2' and runs to a 90 degree elbow. The elbows point to the aft deck and have a 1' piece and hold the ridge pole up. I had to glue all the four-ways to add strength. otherwise the pvc would fall out of the fitting under load. Its function for now and will have to do this winter.
Still looking for other ideas that will work and be transportable. Current configuration isn't portable. It'll be a while before I can get pictures.

Vicodin was working overtime when I posted the above post, its in the wrong thread. lol
Everything is going great, except I'm going stir crazy. I got cabin fever bad and it hasn't even been a week yet. So far I am restricted to the recliner unless I have to take care of business. Anybody ever take pain meds knows the pain related to bowel movements. My first bowel movement, I swore I passed a diamond the size of an apple. Dang that hurt....
Pretty much all I do these days is take meds, and sleep. Monday I have my first therapy session. Looking forward to getting out of the house.... The warden won't even let me take the dogs out.

Been three weeks since the surgery. Everything is going great. Therapists think I'm way ahead of the curve. They are amazed at how well I'm doing, actually the Dr. and his staff are as well. Therapy has been great, especially the stretching after the workout. Really the only pain I have is stairs, more down than up. That will take some time. Pretty much off the pain meds, still icing the knee more than not. Still sleeping in the recliner, tried bed a couple of times, however I sleep on my stomach and that means pressure on the knee. First night I work up soaked about half way through, moved out to the recliner. Second time I tried it I almost made it through the night, but was sore a heck for the day, pain meds and lots of ice.
Monday I go back to work, restricted to sitting all day, which is part of my plan. Work next week, then I have two weeks off to recover and should be good to go next year. Planning on jig making, playing with my Humminbird, Autochart, and the recordings I made this year during my two weeks off and into next year till I can get back out on the water.
Envious of you guys that are still fishing.![]()

Good to hear you're doing well. I had my left knee done in March of 2014 and it's been a great improvement to my quality of life.

Glad to hear you are doing well. Sometimes I forget that I had mine done this past spring because it feels so good now. We live in miraculous times as far as things like this go!
