So - we had heavy rains Thursday night, river is up, extremely muddy, cold front passing through yesterday, all conditions say "don't bother fishing" according to too many articles I've read ....and we caught 2 citations off the get-go.one 15" and one 16".
The bite was good, though not great, and water was 52 (a lot warmer than the air!) and really muddy. Caught lots of fish though with the majority around 9" about 12_14' deep in 20 fow. The big ones we kept to eat amounted to 5 and all caught off the bottom in 22-30 fow. It was especially fun because they all barely barely bumped the line, or hit it on the drop, but fought like bass on the reel in! They liked the Avocado/black stingers we were using. All were from vertical casting trees and flipping docks.
Fun day!
