I use 1 smaller drift sock on my 1648 Jon boat almost all the time when I'm slow trolling. It keeps the wind from kicking the tail of the boat around but, doesn't drain the battery. 2 larger socks work great for side drifting.

I have two different size in the boat a 48" and a 60". The 48 does a good job with winds 10 to 15. 60" will stop boat almost in those winds. I'm fishing out of a 17' war eagle hope this helps.

Always get bigger than the specs for your boat length, I would start with a 60" or 2 - 36". My 2 cents.
