Sorry for the tangent! Here is another hypothetical fish that would be interesting in our cold tail water streams. Look up a taimen, a giant and aggressive salmonid. It would be the king in the fly fishing crouds. Obviously these would never be stocked in Arkansas. They are found in Europe.
Actually found in Russia, Mongolia, and China. I saw a show on them . Might now be a bad idea to stock them here .None of our Trout are native to Arkansas anyway. Just shut off water releases and wipe them out in hot summer if they were a problem . The Taimen are threatened in their native range from over fishing and habitat loss .
