    Default Ozark rod question?

I have a 10ft bottom reel seat rod that I broke the lower half . I hung it under a boat cleat and lifted it . It is the older model before it was sold I think. Are the new tips interchangeable with the old lower section? I hear the quality is not as good as the older ones . Anybody know?

I think MacDaddy did a pretty cool post on Rod repair on here. Check with him. Might be in trouble finding a lower unit at a lower cost, probly better to just buy a new one or try to repair.

I just posted on the MS board asking what had happened to the Ozark rods. Just don't hear anything about them anymore.

Also, I think they sold out, changed the solid tip design and went back to the ceramic insert, to save on cost I'm sure. That was a deal-breaker for a lot of folks, I think. It was definitely the rod's best feature IMO.

I broke the top half of a 10 graphite off brand crappie rod. I tried the tip section of one of my 10 B&M rods and it fit perfectly so I ordered a B&M tip from Grizzly and it works fine. Maybe you can find a bottom section from someone who broke the tip and did not replace.
Point is, may be other brand rods that will interchange with yours.
    Good luck

You can buy the bottom half from Grizzly for half the price of a new rod.

I endorse BnM rod company first and foremost. That Company has done so much for crappie fishing and has Given so much of their product to benefit so many. I can remember during the spring camps, both times they sent 500 dollars worth of rods and products (not cheap stuff either)...They have donated hundreds of dollars to our Tournament trail and others also. Ozark or any fishing company for that matter should look at how BnM runs their Biz...and customer service. Let me Say this again BnM is a Great COMPANY!!!
