"The only people with whom you should try to get even are those who have helped you."
Sounds interesting huh? A quote that I ran upon and it automatically made me think of my CDC friends. First of all let me say....what a weekend and what a get together that we had! This 2015 Pay it Forward Shindig will be a tough one to beat for sure. Like MrDux said in another post, the bar has been set extremely high. From the food to the people to the presentations, it was off the charts!
I just wanted to say thanks to all that showed and most of all thanks to all that put their heart in soul into this get together. We all worked together and ended with great results. We are blessed to have each other and some of my best friends in my life have come from these gatherings and this website. We are strong together and will only get stronger with good friendships. The Pay it Forward concept fits our gang to a tee and we need to build upon that. I can remember several years ago, myself and my family were welcomed with open arms into this "Pay it Forward" fraternity, and I will never forget it. Several people took the time to lend me a hand, share information, and take me and my children fishing. From that, great friendships were built. This just shows what kind of a group we have. Thanks to you all and thanks for coming to this weekends festivities!! Before I end this....I wanted to share something I found.........
Thank you Kentucky CDC!

PAY IT FORWARD!!!
1) It turns our focus away from ourselves. Instead of the usual thought pattern of “How can I benefit from this?” or “What’s in it for me?”, the question of the day is more like, “How can I create a little happiness for someone?” or “How can something I do let someone know, with no strings attached, that kindness is still present in others?”
2) It’s centered around giving rather than taking. I think taking is fine. Taking or receiving is what we do when someone gives us a gift. It’s certainly what drives most dreams — we go out and claim it, make it happen, both are forms of taking. But giving — the ability to give — is a gift unto itself.
3) It’s joyful both ways. Doing something nice for a perfect stranger can generate an unmatched feeling of pure joy. As well, being on the receiving end where you least expect to find kindness feels a lot like hot cocoa and a soft, warm blanket on a stormy day.
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.:rolleyes:buffalo13, Joey Clark, crp4570, M R Dux, ccollins, Grizzly2k1, gofishin, slabseeker1, cajun fryer, ifish LIKED above post
Like DKB23 said, this couldn't have happened without a group effort, and the effort of all who attended to take time out of their weekend to make this what it turned out to be.
As he also said, I have made friends with some that it seems like I have know all my life. We talk sometimes 2 or 3 time a week.
Don't end the weekend with the Pay It Forward idea. Find someone who is less fortunate or just starting out and help them get started, in one of the greatest sports I know..
Take you kids fishing today!!! They will be grown (and married and have children of their on) tomorrow. Then you can take your GRANDKIDS!
