    Default Report:Hickory 11/8/15

Fished Hickory this morning with a chilly wind blowing down my neck,Water was a bit stained and temp 61,We caught 9 keepers and several bass but kept only the crappies,Wife did best today which is the norm,She hanged this nice slab over brush using minnows about 8 feet down in 15 feet of water.A chilly day but a great day to be on the water. No wake makers and jet ski's anywhere

Sounds like a chilly but fun day on the water. Thanks for sharing.

Nice fish. I was on Hickory as well striper fishing. It started out ok, but by 10 it was rough, windy, and cold. My son caught a few first thing and then they went deep and we could not get to them. If you every see a Crestliner or Godfrey Pontoon trolling for stripers from the dam to just past Rinks, it is probably me. Give me a shout.

That's a good fish there,I want to get after stripers soon as the weather gets a bit better. Its getting harder to find good bait lately,I guess the shad have moved to deeper water since the water temp has gone down.I use a 14 foot alumacraft jonboat for crappie. Its small and I can get closer to the docks with it .I fish from a 16 foot bass tracker for catfish but going to striper fishing soon
