We've had pictures of totally "gold" colored Crappie, posted on here in the past. And Bee's pictures show Crappie with a gold tint on their sides. And we've even had pics of crossbreeds (naturally occurring Black & White Crappie mix), as well as the Blacknose variation of the Black Crappie. Any of those can be Googled up for viewing/posting ... but, your fish are an anomaly that few, if any of us, have seen before.

well hopefully we will ketch one of them or another today . I hope to go visit the spot they live in later today . I am of the thought process there may be something else color wise hanging around in there . the state fisheries biologists couldn't give me anything definitive on why they were colored that way other than possibly inbreeding .
I do ketch a lot of white crappie in one spot that are VERY yellow for some reason as well . they retain all the markings but have a definite yellow hue on them . some more than others
I wonder at times if the no mark fish might have crossed with something else other than a crappie but I was pretty much assured on several levels that isn't possible .
the one common factor is the oddly colored fish come from smaller water bodies ....like under 30 acres .
