    Default Secession 10/26/15

Yes it was raining and windy and chilly, but before you say anything let me explain. The weather and the lake conditions could not have been better for our Fall Fest outing this past weekend. I enjoyed the lake so much that Saturday I decided I was going to pull my boat out and come back Monday. Well, by the time Don and I got home Saturday i was too tuckered out to think about getting ready to go again. So, after a good nights sleep and beautiful weather Sunday I kept thinking about how nice it was on Secession, but I kept pushing the thought back in my mind, until I called Jeff to tell him how we did and I wanted to go again. By then the forecast was for rain and wind, but his opinion was, "we got rain suits, so what if it rains. What, indeed?
Sure enough he and I rolled out at 5:30 this morning to make the 2 hour drive up to the lake. By the time we got to Greenwood it had started raining and in did not stop until we went back through Greenwood at 2 PM.
We ended up with 12 crappie and several bass, including one of about 2 lbs. which hit the jig on my 12 foot rod and took the top half under water before I could get the rod out of the holder. Got his picture and put him back. We kept 11 of the crappie for Jeff to have a fish dinner or two.

Last but not least, Butch's cooler shot, with and without water.

It is a small lake but it will get in your blood!!! Been fishing the lake since the 60's and I still enjoy it as much if not more today. Good to see y'all caught some that put smiles on your faces.
Thanks for the report and pics.

Agree with Ronnie, it will get in your blood and it has earned its reputation for producing quality fish. Glad you were able to get out there again and get a nice mess of fish to boot. Those spots are great table fare, you should try them.
