The lake is about 4 ft. high right now and dropping. Crappie are few and far between. You would be better off bass fishing. IMO

Will be down in the area next week. Doing a family thing but hoping to spend one day on the water and catch a few Crappie. Anyone have any advice? Depth? Bait? Colors? Etc?? Thanks!
Dan

I've never fished there, but people say to check the docks and those that have deep brush underneath them will hold some really nice fish. I would use light colors and the most invisible line I could find. Good luck and hope you have a great time.

Thanks RCC! I have loaded up with Flourocarbon. I got all kinds of colors so I will start light. Maybe I will get Lucky and catch my first Norfork Crappie!

Dan,
Call the AGFC field office in Mt. Home. 877-425-7577 and ask to talk with either Cody or Eli. They are some pretty good all around anglers who are also biologists up there. I bet that one of them can get you pointed in the right direction.

If you want to know about bass, then I would talk to Jeremy.

Don't know if you'd be interested in it, but there's also world class trout fishing in the Norfork and White rivers there. They like crappie jigs too, but don't taste nearly as good as crappie IMO. Fun to catch though and aren't generally affected by the weather.
Fished Norfork one day. It rained on and off but no big deal, rain gear did it's job. Threw a Crankbait and caught several Bass so I had Fun! Would Love to get on some Crappie in Norfork sometime, hopefully soon. My Great uncle's 102nd birthday party was a success. My Great Aunt passed away earlier in the year. They had been married 80 years and 9 months! Now that is what you call stickin it out!
