Reminds me of my best friend (no longer live near him). Returned from europe after 13 years was in my mid 30's and never really fished. Meet this older guy at work that was always talking about fishing and he always went alone. Anyway I asked if I could go with him and a 25 plus year friendship began. Was like a father figure to me and until I had to move we fished and hunted together almost every weekend for 15 plus years. We still hook up every now and again to go crappie fishing.

We were known as dumb and dumber around base for all the crazy things we would get into, like fishing in a tornado as an example, or going in the intra coastal waterway in south carolina with a 12 foot john boat to catch shrimp.

Amusing story about his age. He had several heart attacks over the years an he had lost his garage remote and for 5 years he would just hit the button in the back of the garage and run out before the door closed. Anyway one day I told him that because of his health (I was always scared he was going to have a heart attack out in the woods up a tree) the day he couldnt make it out the garage would be the last day I went hunting or fishing with him. The next morning I picked him up and he walked to the truck and got in without closing the garage. I asked him "what about your garage door", he held up his hand and pushed the button on his brand new garage door opener and said "Im not done fishing yet"! Had me laughing all day!
